Join Professor of History Judy Barrett Litoff as she shares fascinating stories from her new book Bryant Goes to War as part of Bryant’s 150th Commemorative Celebration.
The Bryant Service Club was founded by our students in 1942 to send morale-boosting packages of cigarettes, candy, cookies, letters, knitted articles to Bryant alumni serving in the military. The alumni wrote letters to the Service Club thanking them for the packages. These letters were filed away in four large green scrapbooks for safe-keeping. So safe, in fact, that no one knew of their existence until more than sixty years later.
Professor Barrett Litoff’s book focuses on the significance of letter writing during World War II.
