Regional Networks

The Bryant University Alumni Association is divided into regional alumni networks (RANs) that include graduates, former students and friends of Bryant who live or work in a defined geographic area. RANs facilitate connections among alumni in a particular region through a variety of social, professional, educational, athletic, charitable, and community service activities.

RANs also provide a platform to inform alumni, prospective students, parents and friends in the area about campus priorities and initiatives. Generating greater awareness locally and regionally about the University ultimately enhances its national and international prestige. The RAN furthers the mission of Bryant through outreach in admissions, career development and fundraising.

Where are RANs located?

A RAN is formed where a geographic concentration of alumni makes participation in activities practical. In addition to the areas with large concentrations of alumni such as Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Florida, and New Jersey, smaller networks provide an equally important link between alumni and Bryant in regions where fewer alumni live and work, such as California, the Midwest centered on Chicago, and the Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

Steering committees

Headed by a regional chair, the steering committees provide cohesion and support to Bryant-generated programs and help to organize locally initiated activities that will bring alumni together with representatives of Bryant. RAN steering committees are Bryant’s “field offices” so it is important for them to coordinate all major events and initiatives with the Office of Alumni Engagement.

Steering committee members are asked to commit to the following:

  • Serve as a positive outreach representative of the University to other alumni as well as prospective students;
  • Update your profile and actively use the Online Alumni Directory;
  • Attend Reunion@Homecoming and/or an on-campus Alumni Engagement Program;
  • Communicate periodically with the Alumni Engagement staff to discuss opportunities in your region;
  • Serve as an event point person or on a subcommittee in your region;
  • To help increase the percentage of alumni participation in the Annual Fund, make a yearly gift within your means.

“Leading the CT RAN is an incredible opportunity to extend the Bryant Community outside of Smithfield. We bring together alumni spanning multiple decades, and we can all reflect upon our time at Bryant and celebrate that we are all Bulldogs!”
